3636341 - Is TLS 1.3 supported for Email destination in SAP BusinessObjects ?

Symptom

  • Is TLS 1.3 Certificate provided by SMTP Server supported for Email destination in SAP BusinessObjects?
  • Schedules to SMTP servers explicitly configured for TLS 1.3 (no TLS 1.2), fail with error:
    SSL negotiation has failed during setup of the SMTP server connection, please ensure your SSL configuration is correct on both the client and the server. 
  • Wireshark trace from the Adaptive Job Server machine with a filter (Eg port==587) shows the SSL handshake fails with error:
    Alert (Level: Fatal, Description: Protocol Version)
    After the Client Hello is done
