3636382 - Error 500 during identity provisioning service (ips) job execution due to invalid uuid syntax

Symptom

When provisioning users in IPS, the following error is seen complaining about invalid uuid syntax:

Error message: "HTTP operation failed invoking https://portal-service.cfapps.jp10.hana.ondemand.com/roleMapping/scim/v1/Users with statusCode: 500, 
Response: {\"schemas\":[\"urn:ietf:params:scim:api:messages:2.0:Error\"],\"detail\":\"invalid input syntax for type uuid: \\\"XXXXXXX\\\"\",\"status\":500}"
