3636508 - Project Time Recording Setting is Not Working for Non-Team Members

In a project, user defined time recording settings as 'Non-Team Member = Not Allowed' or '=Approval Required'.

However, though an employee is not added to the project staffing, he/she is able to record time for the project without error, or is able to record time without triggering approval process.

SAP Business Bydesign

1. Go to Project Management work center.
2. Go to Projects view.
3. Search and find the relevant project ABC, press Edit.
4. In Project Plan tab,  Project Settings sub-tab.
5. Set 'Non-Team Member' as "Not Allowed".
6. In Team and Staffing tab, employee XYZ is not maintained under Team Members.
7. Log in employee XYZ's account.
8. Go to Timesheet.
9. Maintain mandatory data and record time for the project ABC, release the time.
10. The time recording is released without any error.

According to the setting, user expects the error message:

Time recording not permitted for project ABC ; XYZ is not part of the team.

The employee is indirectly assigned to the project via organizational unit.

To check the org unit assigned to the project ABC ,

1. Go to Project Management work center.
2. Go to Projects view.
3. Search and find the relevant project ABC, press Edit.
4. Go to Team and Staffing Tab
5. Under Organizational Unit , org unit DEF is assigned to the project.

Case 1:

Employee XYZ is part of org unit DEF.

Case 2:

Employee XYZ is not part of org unit DEF, but part of DEF's sub org unit. 

To check the employee's Org Unit assignment,

1. Go to Organizational Management work center.
2. Go to Org structures view.
3. Navigate to org unit DEF.
4. Employees information can be found under Employee sub tab of the org unit / sub-org unit.

Employees in DEF and its sub org units are considered as Team members, they do not follow the project time recording setting for Non-Team Member. 

This is the expected system behavior.
