3636513 - Error "Registered Product Already Assigned" Occurs When Saving a Sales Quote

When attempting to save a sales quote the error message: "Registered product DEF already assigned" is displayed in the UI. This issue occurs when Service Quote XYZ references Service Request ABC. The error prevents the sales quote from being saved successfully.

• ABC represents the ID of the service request.
• DEF represents the ID of the product.
• XYZ represents the ID of the service quote.

1. Navigate to the New Business Work Center.
2. Go to the Service Quotes view.
3. Filter for "All Quotes".
4. In the search field, enter Service Quote XYZ.
5. Select the Service Quote XYZ.
6. Observe the error message: "Registered product DEF already assigned".

The error occurs due to conflicts with the registered product DEF:

1. Identical Data Conflict:

   • Service Quote XYZ and Service Request ABC have identical values maintained for the Registered Product field.

2. In-Process Service Request:

   • The registered product DEF is already assigned to an in-process Service Request ABC whose status is not yet closed.

To resolve this, ensure the registered product DEF is not duplicated or conflicted:

Workaround 1: Reference a Different Service Request

Reference the Service Quote with a Service Request that uses a different registered product (not product DEF).

Workaround 2: Remove the Registered Product

Open Service Quote XYZ for editing.

Navigate to the General tab → Account and Affected Product subtab.

In the Affected Products section, delete the registered product DEF.

Save the Service Quote.

After applying either workaround, the Service Quote saves successfully without errors.
