3636718 - Enabling custom fields in Manage Purchase Orders app

Symptom

  • A custom field is not visible in the "Manage Purchase Orders" app.
  • The custom field tab appears in the "Change/Display Purchase Order- Advanced" app but not in the "Manage Purchase Orders" app.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the "Manage Purchase Orders" app.
  2. Click on create item
  3. Observe that the custom field tab does not appear in the app.

Cause

The custom field has not been enabled via the "Adapt UI" functionality. While the field may have been activated during its creation, this does not automatically enable its display in the app's UI.

Resolution

The Manage Purchase Orders app is designed for UI adaptation through tools like "Adapt UI" in the Fiori Launchpad. While custom fields can be added to the underlying data model and made available in Fiori apps, they are typically integrated into existing sections or added as new fields within the Fiori app's UI, rather than appearing as a separate, dedicated "Custom Fields" tab.
