3637119 - Time Entry Error: Update Blocked on DD.MM.YYYY by Time Administrator

When trying to register/edit a time recording, the following error message is displayed: "Update blocked on DD.MM.YYYY by Time Administrator."

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Home work center.
2. Open the Self-Services Overview view.
3. Select Edit Time Sheet.
4. Enter a time recording for a past date.
5. Click Save.
6. An error message is displayed.

Employees can not edit time sheets as there is a time restriction for updating time entries active.

To remove this restriction, follow the steps below:

1. Go to the Time Administration work center.

2. Open the Regular Tasks view.

3. Under the Employee Times section, select Block Updates to Time Entries.

4. Here, you can modify the restriction settings: 

• • You can specify the number of months prior to the current month during which employees are allowed to edit their time recordings. Any time entries older than the specified number of months will be blocked from editing in Self-Services > Time Sheet.
  • You can choose to not set any restriction by placing the No Restrictions indicator.
