3637255 - Error "Delivery XXXXX is locked in running process in ValChainMgm by user" occurs when changing an outbound delivery in the 'Change Outbound Delivery' app

Symptom

When opening the 'Change Outbound Delivery' app to process a delivery document, an error message appears stating that the delivery is locked in a running process in ValChainMgm by a user.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open 'Change Outbound Delivery' app in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.
  2. Enter an outbound delivery number and run.
  3. Error "Delivery XXXXX is locked in running process in ValChainMgm by user" occurs.

Cause

The delivery is stuck in the Value Chain Management (VCM) process.

Resolution

  1. Access the 'Monitor Value Chains' app in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.
  2. Locate the affected delivery document.
  3. Identify and click the "Reprocess" button within the app.
  4. Wait for the system to reprocess the events associated with the delivery.
  5. Verify that the delivery is no longer locked and can be processed successfully.
