3637365 - Pending Approval Absence is considered in the Time Valuation

By current design, absences with pending approval status are evaluated in time valuation. The business requirement is to filter absences based on the approval status in the time valuation process.

1. Create an absence and ensure the workflow is triggered automatically.
2. The absence remains in “To Be Approved” status.
3. Check the Time Valuation results in the time sheet.
4. Notice that the pending-approval absence is evaluated in the valuation.

Filtering the approval status of absences during Time Valuation is not supported in the current system design. 

Customers are welcome to submit or vote for the enhancement request “Time valuations to read Employee Time status”. The more votes this request receives, the higher the likelihood that it will be considered for future development. 

As an alternative workaround, customer can consider blocking the submission of the time sheet when there is an absence pending approval, as described in KBA 3289220 – How to stop the user from submitting timesheet if the time sheet has a time off pending for approval. 

With this approach, no time valuation results that include unapproved absences will be sent to the Payroll system, provided that the customer is using the standard BIB or PTP replication to ERP, SAP S/4HANA on-premise, SAP S/4HANA PCE, or ECP systems.
