3637473 - Error occurs during extraction in Process Intelligence due to Java heap space 'OutOfMemory' exception

You receive the following error in Process Intelligence during a data extraction:

java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space

The default maximum heap size is usually set to 4GB. A common error when this limit is reached is the OutOfMemoryError that you see during your extraction.

Please consider increasing this Java runtime variable to 8GB initially to see if this will be enough heap memory to complete an extraction successfully.

If you are still facing the OutOfMemoryError, please increase this variable in 1 GB increments and rerun the extraction.

The maximum value that you can assign to this variable is based on available system memory. I.e, ideally leave at least 25% of your RAM for Operating System and other processes.
