Symptom

  • Error message: "The Mapping Group XX has an infinite loop in the defined hierachy"
  • Error occurs during business partner replication.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open Webservice message monitor.
  2. Identify the failed inbound message.
  3. Select View > Error log.
  4. Observe the error message: "The Mapping Group XX has an infinite loop in the defined hierarchy".

Cause

  • The code list mapping group has a base group of itself, creating a circular dependency.

Resolution

  1. Open Business Configuration.
  2. Navigate to the Overview section.
  3. Search for the activity "Code List Mapping for Integration with External Applications and Solutions".
  4. Click "Change Immediately".
  5. Locate and maintain the Code List Mapping Group.
  6. Edit the base group to remove the circular dependency.
