3638272 - Error "enter a valid account assignment category" when creating a purchase contract in the "Manage Purchase Contracts" app in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

When attempting to create a purchase contract using the "Manage Purchase Contracts" app, the system displays the following error:

Error Message: "Enter a valid account assignment category" Message Number: ME/063

This issue occurs specifically when using a custom Account Assignment Category (AAC)

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open the "Manage Purchase Contracts" app.
2. Click on "Create".
3. Enter the header details.
4. Add line items at the line-item level.
5. In the "Account Assignment Category" field, input '1' (custom AAC).
6. Observe the error message: "Enter a valid account assignment category" (code: ME/063).

The issue arises due to system standard design. The "Manage Purchase Contracts" app does not support custom account assignment categories.

In the "Manage Purchase Contracts" app. The supported categories include:

• Sales Order (C)
• Cost Center (K)
• Project (P)
• Third-Party (S)
• Unknown (U)
• Network (N)
• Asset (A)
• Order (F)

Alternatively, use the "Create Purchase Contract (ME31K)" to create purchase contracts with custom account assignment categories, as this functionality is supported in that app.
