Symptom

Field not visible for a given page layout despite being set to visible Via Adaptation Mode.

Environment

SAP Cloud For Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Enable Adaptation Mode.
  2. Open any View of a BO.
  3. Switch to the given page layout.
  4. Set a given field to visible and save.
  5. Notice that the field is hidden once you end adaptation mode despite being set to visible.

Cause

The field is hidden in the master layout, which prevents it from being visible in the given page layout.

Resolution

This is the expected behavior of the system. The master layout acts as the primary layout, and any field hidden in the master layout cannot be made visible in other derived layouts. To make the field visible, ensure it is not hidden in the master layout.
