3638414 - SAC Excel Add-in references a removed datasource

Symptom

SAC Excel add-in attempts to connect to a removed model or datasource.

The "Refresh All" option is disabled after removing the custom XML manually.

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud, add-in for Microsoft Office

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the SAC Excel add-in.
  2. Attempt to log in.
  3. Observe the error message indicating restricted access.
  4. Notice that the add-in attempts to connect to a removed model or data source.

Cause

  • Residual references to removed models or data sources in the workbook.
  • Manual deletion of custom XML disrupts the add-in's ability to process workbook objects correctly.

Resolution

  1. Open the workbook in the SAC Excel add-in and log in.
  2. Navigate to the "Workbook" tab in the ribbon.
  3. Open the "Preferences" tab and locate the "Restore Corrupted Workbook Objects" section.
  4. Select "Show Panel to restore objects" to identify missing named ranges.
  5. Delete the identified named ranges using the "Delete Named Range" option.
  6. Repeat step 5 until no corrupt named ranges are found.
  7. Perform a "Refresh All" to update the tables.
  8. Save the workbook before closing it.
