3638502 - 412 Error: Case Update Fails via Mashup or Integration Due to Version Conflict

Symptom

  • When updating a Case via an external integration (e.g., mashup, custom UI, or third-party tool), the following error may occur:
    • HTTP 412 Precondition Failed
    • Message: Data has been changed in a parallel session. Please refresh and try again.
  • This situation typically happens when a manual change is made to the Case in the UI (e.g., updating the Processor), followed by an external update attempt without refreshing the data first.
