Symptom
End-users are unable to export SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) stories to Google Sheets
Environment
SAP ANALYTICS CLOUD
Cause
Missing permission
Resolution
To enable this functionality, the user need to have the Maintain permission for the connection in the users' role assignments. Please note that this permission only grants visibility of the export option, users will not be able to delete or modify the connection.
This behavior is by design and documented in the official help guide Google Drive connection properties:
- When a tenant is created, the System Owner, Admin roles, and any user with Manage permission on Public Files and Read permission on User items can view, manage, and share the Google Drive connection.
- The System Owner is the default owner of the connection. If the System Owner is changed, ownership of the connection does not automatically transfer.
- Only users with the Maintain permission on the connection can see the Export to Google Slides option. However, they must also have the connection shared with them by an administrator to perform the export. Users can request access from the Export Story As dialog.
- No user can delete or edit the connection, and it cannot be exported from the Deployment area.
