3638868 - Rules for External Pricing Configuration are not triggered

Symptom

Customer has created Rules for External Pricing Configuration, where the rules would determine automatically the pricing procedure.

Their expectation is to have the Pricing Procedure determined when creating a Sales Quote, for example, without the need to click Simulate to get the pricing procedure determined by the external system interface.

However, the Pricing Procedure is not automatically determined.

Environment

  • SAP Sales Cloud Version 2
  • SAP Sales Cloud and SAP Service Cloud Version 2

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to Sales Quote Workcenter.
  2. Create a Sales Quote where the rules created are matching.
  3. Save and Open.
  4. Notice that the Pricing Procedure is empty.

Resolution

The determination rules are maintained for a document type, which is currently defined in Sales Quote Document Types Settings as Internal Pricing "Off (with External Pricing Simulation)".

In this case, since Internal Pricing is off, pricing procedure determination will not be done according to rules maintained in V2. The pricing procedure will be retrieved only from the simulation response coming from the external system once Simulation is triggered. This is the expected behaviour.

(Pricing procedure determination will be done in V2 when the 'Internal Pricing' setting is set to any of the other two values)

Once simulation is done, addition/modification of manual conditions will be possible if the pricing procedure coming from the simulation response is uploaded to V2.
