3639145 - Job information record not updated when changing the effective date of the position record

Symptom

When a record is added in position, it is synced to job information by the position to job sync rule. Later when the effective date of the position record is changed, it is not getting updated in job information.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central: Position Management

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to Manage Position-> Open any position.
  2. Make some changes to any field mentioned in the position to job sync rule.
  3. The changes are synced to job information.
  4. Now, change the effective date of the position record created earlier.
  5. Check the job information-> Effective date is not updated.

Cause

This is expected behavior. Just changing the effective date will not create a new record in job info or update the existing the record. For the sync to be triggered there should be change to any of the fields mentioned in the sync rule. If there is no field changes then sync will not happen. 

Resolution

If the effective date of position record is updated, then the job information record needs to be updated manually.
