Symptom
- Credit management sales order is credit checked after the credit management master data is deleted for the business partner.
- Unable to prevent credit checks for the business partner despite deletion of credit management master data.
- How to prevent credit check to be carried out for the business partner.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Delete the credit management master data for a business partner.
- Create a new sales order for the same business partner.
- Observe that a credit check is performed during the sales order creation process.
Cause
- Deleting the credit management business role for the business partner does not delete the credit profile data. The credit profile data cannot be deleted for the business partner.
Resolution
1. Assign a Custom Check Rule Without Credit Check Steps
-
Create a custom check rule (e.g., Z1) that does not include any check steps.
-
Assign this rule to the BP using the Manage Credit Accounts app.
-
This ensures that no credit check is performed for the BP during sales order processing.
2. Use a Risk Class Without Credit Check Configuration
-
Assign a risk class to the BP which is not configured for credit checks in the configuration activity:
Define Automatic Credit Control (SSCUI ID: 101518). -
If the risk class is not associated with any credit control checks, the system will not perform a credit check for BPs assigned with that class.
3. Set a Very High Credit Limit
- If neither of the above options fits your process, you can assign a very high credit limit to the BP.
- This ensures that the credit exposure never exceeds the credit limit, preventing credit blocks during order processing.
