Symptom
When activating the Full Profile of the Latest People Profile via Company System Settings, the Deduction portlet displays the error message: "Looks like something went wrong. Please try again."
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
- SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
Reproducing the Issue
- Select any active employee;
- Navigate to the Compensation menu on the left;
- Observe the error message "Looks like something went wrong. Please try again." displayed on the Deduction card.
Cause
- The issue occurs because the Default Screen is not configured for the Recurring Deduction object;
- Additionally, a custom Configuration UI may contain unsupported configurations, such as parent object fields assigned in child UI groups.
Resolution
- Navigate to Admin Center > Configure Object Definitions;
- Search for the object definition of Recurring Deduction;
- Edit the object definition and set the Default Screen to the following Configuration UI: RecurringDeductionConfigUI
If using a custom configuration, ensure the following corrections are applied:
- Remove parent object fields assigned in child UI groups;
- If 'lastModifiedBy' is required from the parent object, add the field to the parent group in the UI;
- If 'lastModifiedBy' is required from the child object, set the UI field resolver as "Recurring Items.Last Modified By".
- Save the changes and provide the necessary permissions for the role associated with the Recurring Deduction Item under Miscellaneous permissions;
- Log out and log back in to test the changes;
- If the issue persists, use the standard UI (RecurringDeductionConfigUI) and hide unnecessary fields (e.g., "Reference ID", "Additional Information") or add required fields (e.g., "End Date") as per requirements.
