3639960 - PDF Preview only displays code instead of description

Symptom

Code values are shown in the output form instead of description.

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental. 

Environment

SAP Sales and Service Cloud Version 2

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Access SAP Sales and Service Cloud Version 2 system.
  2. Go to settings.
  3. Enter Maintain form template view.
  4. Expand the affected entity.
  5. Expand affected form.
  6. Click on preview.
  7. Notice code values are shown in the output form instead of description.

Cause

Currently, showing descriptions for static code list is not possible for the form preview.

Resolution

As workaround, open the affected form with Adobe LiveCycle designer and follow below steps:

  1. Select affected field.
  2. In the object tab for the field navigate to the field section.
  3. Under List Items click on + button and add the description values.
  4. Then go to Binding tab and enable the 'Specify Item values'.

  5. Then adjust the value column if necessary.
  6. Save the template and re upload in the form settings.
