3640025 - Inline Image is Saved to Email when Using Outlook Integration

Symptom

Images are synced to email body although the user did not select the attachment while saving the email to SAP sales cloud v2 using outlook integration side pane. The image is shown in the email at the entity timeline.

Environment

SAP Sales Cloud V2

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open Outlook.
  2. Open an email that has inline images.
  3. Open SAP Sales cloud Outlook side pane.
  4. Search for the entity e.g. opportunity.
  5. Click on save this item.
  6. Uncheck the attachment checkbox.
  7. Click on save.
  8. Force sync.
  9. Open SAP Sales cloud v2.
  10. Go to entity view e.g. Opportunities and open the one for which email was assigned.
  11. Open timeline.
  12. Notice the email contains the images in the content.

Resolution

If an image is added directly into the email body rather than as a formal attachment, the rule won’t apply since such images aren’t treated as standard attachments. 

The checkbox is there in order to control if the image will be transferred for the attachments section or not. The checkbox will not control if the image is added directly to the email body.
