3640669 - error "no bin search possible. storage types/sections/bin types incomplete" during putaway warehouse task creation - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

• An error occurs during warehouse task creation in the putaway scenario.
• The system issues the error message: "No bin search possible. Storage types/sections/bin types incomplete" (Message No. /SCWM/PUT_BIN_DET075).
• Failed warehouse task log may display: "No alt. bin type sequence found (whse no.:&3,stor.tpe:&4opt.bin type:&5)" or "No st. section search seq. found (st.tpe:&4,st.sec.ID:&6,Fnd1:,Fnd2:)" or No valid bin types found (storage type: &7, HU type: &8).

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Navigate to the APP Warehouse Monitor -> Inbound Delivery.
2. Select the inbound delivery and click "More Method" -> "Create WT in background".
3. Observe the error message:

   "Failed to create warehouse task for warehouse request &1 &2".

   "1 items failed to create warehouse tasks in 1 warehouse request items".

   "No bin search possible. Storage types/sections/bin types incomplete".

4. Navigate to APP Warehouse Monitor -> Tools -> Application Log, Object "/SCWM/WME" and Subobject "WHS_TASK".
5. Review the failed warehouse task log for messages such as:

"No alt. bin type sequence found (whse no.:M301,stor.tpe:N100,opt.bin type:Z002)".

"No st. section search seq. found (st.tpe:N100,st.sec.ID:&6,Fnd1:,Fnd2:)".

• Missing customizing entries.

Check the WT log if the storage type search sequence is found. If yes, it is possible there is below messages shows:

• Message log: No alt. bin type sequence found (whse no.:&3,stor.tpe:&4opt.bin type:&5) - Maintain customizing entry at customizing "Alternative Storage Bin Type Sequence".
• Message log: No st. section search seq. found (st.tpe:&4,st.sec.ID:&6,Fnd1:,Fnd2:) - Set the storage Section indication for material master data and maintain customizing entries at Customzing "Maintain Storage Section Search Sequence".
• Message log: No valid bin types found (storage type: &7, HU type: &8) - Maintain customzing entry at customizing "Define HU Types for Each Storage Bin Type".
