3641173 - Account Employee Responsible Not Available or Incorrect in the Account Contact Data Report

Symptom

You are using the Account Contact Data standard report, however it is not possible to see the Account Employee Responsible as maintained in the system UI.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Business Analytics work center.
  2. Enter the Design Reports view.
  3. Search for the report Account Contact Data
  4. Click the report name to open it.
  5. Fill the selection criteria and execute the report by clicking on the Apply button.
  6. Enter the View section of the report.
  7. Click on the + button to add a new row field.
  8. Select the Employee Responsible to be included in the report.
  9. Click on the Ok button.

Here it is possible to see that the Employee Responsible shows as "#" or displays the incorrect account responsible.

Cause

The Account Contact Data report is meant to be used to consult data from the contacts in the system, and is not capable of pulling data from the accounts. The Employee Responsible property in this report refers to the employee responsible for the contact, rather than the employee responsible for the account.

Resolution

In order to generate a report that includes the Account Responsible, it is required to create a joined data source between data sources Account Contact Data and Account Responsibility Data.
