Symptom
- Replenishment warehouse task is created automatically from warehouse request even when there is no stock in the source logistics area.
- The source logistics area field is blank in the warehouse task and no source logistics area is found in the value help.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the internal logistics work center, warehouse tasks view.
- Search for the replenishment task ID: 'XYZ' and select 'confirm'.
- Observed that the source logistics area is blank.
- Check the value help and note that no source logistics area is available.
(XYZ represents warehouse task ID)
Cause
A replenishment task is created from a warehouse request even if there is no stock available, with the source logistics area left blank. This is the expected behavior of the system.
Resolution
Currently, there is no way to prevent a warehouse task from being created if the source logistics area is empty.
The only option available is to create all replenishment tasks manually from the requests, after manually checking the stock in the stock overview.
To make task creation completely manual:
- Go to the Warehousing and Logistics Master Data, Logistics Models view.
- Select the logistic model ID: 'ABC', which is used for replenishment in site: 'DEF', select Edit.
- Uncheck the option 'Automatic Generation of Tasks'.
- Click 'check' and then 'save and release'.
(ABC represents logistics model ID. DEF represents site ID)
