3641450 - Alphanumeric Authorization Group creation fails with 'invalid entry'

Symptom

When trying to create alphanumeric authorization groups the system displays the error message 'Invalid Entry'.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the "Implementation Activities" app.
  2. Navigate to the configuration activity "Maintain Authorization Groups for Business Partner (SSCUI - 105622)".
  3. Click on "New Entries".
  4. Attempt to create an alphanumeric authorization group (e.g., RBC1).
  5. Save the entries.

Cause

Alphanumeric values are not supported for authorization groups. 

Resolution

  • Use only numeric or alphabetic values when creating authorization groups.
  • Avoid using alphanumeric combinations as they are not supported in the current configuration of SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.
