3641640 - Sales Volume – Flexible Analysis Report Fails or Slows Down when Filtering by Net Sale Volume and Volume Rebate Group in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

• The report becomes slow to open when applying a filter for "Net Sale Volume"
• In some cases, no data is returned, or the browser session freezes.
• A warning is shown indicating that the "Material" characteristic is deprecated.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open Sales Volume – Flexible Analysis report.
2. Add the following to Rows:
   • Sales Organization
   • Sales Office
   • Sold-to Party
   • Material (or its technical name)
3. Add Volume Rebate Group to the filter bar.
4. Add Net Sale Volume as a filter or measure.
5. Click Go.
6. Report becomes extremely slow or fails.

The issue is caused by the use of the "Material" characteristic, which is deprecated for analytical use in SAP S/4HANA Cloud, public edition.

• "Material" is based on outdated CDS view structures that are no longer optimized for performance.

• When combined with resource-heavy filters like Net Sale Volume and Volume Rebate Group, query execution may fail or experience delays.

To fix the report performance issue:

• Replace “Material” with “Product” in the report layout, as “Material” is deprecated.
• Simplify filters: Avoid using Volume Rebate Group and Net Sale Volume together unless necessary, as they increase load time.
• Run and test the updated report to confirm performance is improved.
• If successful, save a new variant with the updated layout and filters for future use.
