Symptom
- Attempt to refresh an import job that was working previously, and the error is displayed: "Error parsing service metadata: Could not parse as Edmx document";
- Try to create a new model using the same query, and another error is displayed: "Unable to connect to datasource. Check the connection details and user credentials, and then try again."
Environment
SAP Analytics Cloud 2025.8.17
Reproducing the Issue
- Log into SAC;
- Go to Modeler > Open the model;
- Switch to Data Management and attempt to refresh the import job, but it fails;
- Return to Modeler;
- Try to create a new model using the same query, and it also fails.
Cause
The OAuth token had expired in Datasphere, as it is valid for a period of 180 days. This behavior is similar to what is described in the KBA: 3271051 - Import Job fails due "invalid token" from SAP Datasphere OData API - SAP for Me.
Resolution
- Go to Datasphere;
- Go to Administration > App Integration;
- Add a new OAuth Client and set the 'Refresh Token Lifetime' to 180 days;
- Switch to SAC and edit the OData Connection to Datasphere with the new OAuth Client;
- Refresh the import job, and it will work; also, a new model using the same query will work.
