Symptom

  • Tooltip measure displaying no values after hierarchy drill down.
  • Issue happens when drilling down the hierarchy to level 6 or below.

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login into SAC.
  2. Go the story in issue.
  3. Select the chart and hover on any value >> notice that the tooltip for the tooltip measure in issue is showing value as expected.
  4. Drill down the hierarchy to level 6 or below>> notice that the tooltip is showing "No value"

 

Cause

  • The behavior is by design.
  • No value appears in the tooltip when drilling down to level 6 because the corresponding secondary model contains no values for that hierarchy level.
  • Values remain visible when the dimension is added to the chart because the chart is configured to display "all primary" data values.
  • For blended tooltips, system restrictions require changing the link type to "intersect".
  • Therefore, if only primary-model values exist and the secondary model lacks values, the tooltip will show no values.

Resolution

The behavior is by design.
