3642284 - Conditional suppression formula disappears from the report in Crystal Reports

Symptom

  • Unable to save conditional suppression formula.
  • Suppression formulas are disappearing after saving and reopening the report in Crystal Reports.

Environment

SAP Crystal Reports 2025 

Reproducing the Issue

  1. In Crystal Reports, create a report based on any data sources.
  2. Conditionally suppress an object on the report, by right clicking on a field for example, and selecting "Format"
  3. Under the Common tab,  click on the "X-2" button on the right side of the Suppress option.
  4. In the formula, add any conditional formula like: 1=1
  5. Save the formula
  6. Save and close the report.
  7. Reopen the report, and notice the formula is blank. 

Cause

This is a known issue with Crystal Reports 2025 - Patch 3 and below.

Resolution

The issue is resolved in the following product update, and higher:

  • Crystal Reports 2025 - Patch 4
