Symptom

  • A license issue is reported when attempting to start the SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) database:

kernel  SySAM: Licensing capacity set to PARTITION licensing. All ASE instances running on <SERVER_NAME> (HOSTID=PARTITION-ID=000c29fef558 525400c79796) will share licenses. License quantities are based on 1 logical processor(s), 1 core(s) in 1 chip(s).
kernel  SySAM: Failed to obtain license(s) for ASE_CORE feature from license file(s) or server(s).
kernel  SySAM: No such feature exists. Verify that a license containing the feature name ASE_CORE is available or generate and deploy the license from the SAP Support Portal.
