3642345 - Age-as-of Year behavior when creating or updating Insurance Enrollments - Employee Central

Symptom

Enrollment is created or updated with the wrong Employee Contribution because the Employee's Age was miscalculated by the system.

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Environment

Success Factors - Employee Central

Cause

This behavior will depend on your Rate Chart and Schedule Periods Configuration.

Resolution

The behavior for the Age as of Year is:

  • Enrollment Year: Is today's year. - The current year in which the enrollment is being created or updated.
  • Enrollment Effective From Year: It will consider the year defined on the "Enrollment Effective From" field defined on the respective Schedule Period for that Enrollment.

However, the result can be different for Enrollment Creation and Enrollment Update according to the configuration you have and the schedule period configured.

Here is an example of how the Age would be calculated for different scenarios for the same employee.

In the scenario below, the Rate Chart is configured with "Age as of Day" as 31 and "Age as of Month" as December.

Based on the table above, it's possible to see that different results can be achieved using the system's configuration.
