3642550 - Not Allocated Value Due to Incorrect TECO Date

Symptom

The Material Price Analysis app shows unallocated values. Upon investigation, the root cause reveals that some production orders have an incorrect TECO (Technically Completed) date.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Cause

The issue originates from a program error:

  • When the CLSD (Closed) status is set for a production order, the system incorrectly adjusts the TECO date to match the CLSD date.
    • Example: If an order was set to TECO in Period 6 and CLSD in Period 7, the TECO date gets retroactively changed to Period 7.
  • This results in the WIP (Work in Process) value for Period 6 being unable to clear during Period 7, causing unallocated values.

Resolution

  1. System Fix:
A program fix addressing this issue will be delivered via CFD2508.02 (to be deployed on Oct. 19th).

  2. Preventive Guidance:
To avoid similar errors moving forward:

    • Do not set the CLSD status for production orders until:
      • All outstanding balances on the order are cleared.
      • All period-end closing processes are completed.
  3. Correction for Affected Orders:

    • For production orders with incorrect TECO dates:
      • Open a support ticket under component CO-PC-OBJ-2CL.
      • SAP will correct the erroneous TECO dates through a backend report.
