3642895 - Billing creation date adjustment in SAP Subscription Billing

Symptom

The customer is unable to update the billing creation date and time in the subscription billing scenario.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud, public edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a subscription in SAP Subscription Billing with a specified start date.
  2. Navigate to the "Manage Billing Data" app.
  3. Observe that the billing date displayed is set to the day after the subscription creation date, rather than the subscription start date.

Cause

The billing date calculation depends on several factors, such as the subscription start date, creation date, and billing profile settings. By default, the calculated billing date and automatic closing occur no earlier than the day after the subscription is created.

Resolution

By default, the calculated billing date, and thus the automatic bill closing, occurs no earlier than the day after the subscription is created. If you require an earlier bill closing, you can use the "Change Status, Close Bill Immediately" action. This will adjust the billing date to the current date.
