3642966 - Error “Found data at an index being read from the back end” When Entering Data in a Custom Field on the Timesheet UI

Symptom

An index error “Found data at an index being read from the back end” appears when entering data in a custom field on the Timesheet. "Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental." 

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Time Sheet
  • SAP SuccessFactors Time Tracking

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to the employee’s timesheet.
  2. Enter time data and select the configured custom field, the following error occurs.

Cause

The issue is caused by a search field on the affected custom object that references an association. This is currently not supported by the TimeSheet UI.

Resolution

  1. Navigate to Admin Center ->Configure Object Definitions -> enter the affected custom object.
  2. Remove the configured field from the Searchable Fields list.
