3643819 - General error; 4005 POS(*) Unknown column name:DB_INDEX

Symptom

  • Upgrade of SAP content server has been carried out, afterwards documents cannot be viewed in application transactions.
  • The same documents could be viewed without an issue before the upgrade.
  • Source version of SAP content server was 6.50/6.40 for the Upgrade.
  • Full error seen in the application log in SLG1 is => HTTP error: 500 Internal Server Error  [SAP AG][LIBSDBOD SO][SAP MaxDB] General error; 4005 POS(*) Unknown column name:DB_INDEX
  • There will be a number inside the brackets after 4005 POS which will be different in most situations based on data in MaxDB, e.g. 4005 POS(28)
  • This issue only effects SAP Content servers using Database Storage (i.e. MaxDB), if FileSystem is used this issue will not occur.
