3643830 - Import Errors Due to Invalid Date Values in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Symptom

  • An error appear while attempting to import a dimension into the target tenant through content network. The error message states: "Couldn't import object 'Object name': Failed to execute statement exec. Component = Statement. Reason = invalid DATE, TIME or TIMESTAMP value: SQL Error." 
  • The error appears despite there is no timestamp property or validation error in the dimension.
  • The issue persists whether the dimension is transported with or without data.  

  

Environment

SAP ANALYTICS CLOUD 2025.8.17

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login to SAC.
  2. Navigate to Transport / Export/ Content Network / My content
  3. Click on New Export and select Dimension in Object Types.
  4. Fill all the details and in destination provide the URL of tenant and complete the process.
  5. Login to Target tenant.
  6. Navigate to Transport / Import 
  7. Click on the package you just exported from Test tenant
  8. In Overview tab scroll down and accept the terms and conditions
  9. In Import Options tab select "Overwrite objects and data"  and Deselect the connections as Support users are not allowed to modify connections, Then click on Import.
  10. Notice the error "Couldn't import object 'Object Name': Failed to execute statement exec. Component = Statement. Reason = invalid DATE, TIME or TIMESTAMP value: SQL Error."  

Cause

The error is caused by a 5-digit year value ("10000-01-01T04:55:00Z") in the recurrence end time of a job group in the dimension, which was incompatible with the importing code.  

Resolution

The recurrence end time for the job group in the dimension must be adjusted to a valid date earlier than Dec 30th, 9999.
