3644051 - Authentication between CPI and Service Cloud v2 for Rest APIs

Symptom

You want to know if you can have certificate/token-based authentication between CPI and Sales or Service Cloud Version 2, by calling the Rest API.

Use Case example: through a custom iflow, you are consuming Phone Service , Email Service, and Customer Address Rest APIs from CPI. None of these APIs is part of any communication configuration, hence you can not use certificate or token-based authentication.

Environment

Sales Cloud Version 2

Service Cloud Version 2

Cause

The Business user can consume these APIs using Basic Authentication and Certificate-based authentication.

Resolution

For Rest API you can use the certificate-based authentication for Business User.

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Under "Users and Control" , open "Users"
  3. Choose a Business User you have created for API Consumption
  4. Click on the USER ID
  5. Click "Manage Certificates" under User details section
  6. Click on "Browse Files" and select the certificate to upload from your system.
