3644064 - IPS job fails – “Not found at least one target system…” error, despite configuring a source system on the target system

Symptom

When running a provisioning job in SAP Identity Provisioning (IPS), the following error appears in the job log:

Cannot execute provisioning job in tenant context: <IAS tenant ID>
Caused by: Error during execution on behalf of tenant with ID: <IAS tenant ID>
Caused by: Not found at least one target system, which is configured to accept entities from source system with name: <source system name> and id: <source system ID>

You have confirmed that the steps in KBA3004793 - Not found at least one target system, which is configured to accepts entities from source system <name>, have already been applied, but the issue still occurs.

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
