3644158 - Reorder point planning does not consider external requirements within replenishment lead time

Symptom

Reorder pointing planning is used for the material. In the MRP type, it is configured that external requirements are included in the planning.
After running MRP for the material, there is not any procurement proposal created for the external requirement even if its requirement date is within the the replenishment lead time.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Cause

There is no procurement proposal created because the "Regenerative Planning" indicator is not set in the MRP parameters.
External requirements falling into the replenishment lead time are only considered during the MRP calculation, but do not create planning file entries for the material. If the "Regenerative Planning" indicator is not set and there are only these external requirements for the material, the material will not be considered as MRP relevant and will not be planned.

Resolution

For reorder point planning, always use the regenerative planning to make sure the material is planned by the MRP run.
