3644713 - "Address handle invalid" AM030 when attempting to save address without Postcode

Symptom

  • When attempting to use the "Change Maintenance Notification" app to update the address in the location tab, the system will not allow the changes to be saved unless the postal code is also updated.
  • This also affects the SAP GUI transaction change transaction (IW22) as well as the create transaction for notification (IW21) and similar transactions and apps relating to Orders.
  • Once the postal code is added, the system allows the street address to update as expected.
  • Different behaviours/errors can be experienced
    • No error message and system gives a "Notification saved" message but the changes are not retained
    • Error "Address handle invalid: " (Message no. AM 030) appears during the save
    • Error "Please enter postal code" (Message no. AM 219) appears when using the SAPGUI transaction.
