3644926 - Error message "Grouping XXX has a external numbering assignment. Please enter a valid assignment" in S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

• When trying to Simulate or Migrate the Migration Object "Supplier" encounter the Error message: "Grouping Z*** has external number assignment. Please enter a valid number."
• The error message class is R1 91

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open the "Migrate Your Data" application in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.
2. Create a Migration Project and select the required migration object (Supplier).
3. Simulate the migration process.
4. Observe the error message during the simulation for suppliers configured with external numbering.

• The field "External BP Number" was not filled in the migration template for Business Partners configured with external numbering.
• The number range was not set up correctly in the following SSCUIs: 
  
  • Define Number Ranges (102296)
  • Define Groupings and Assign Number Ranges (102241) 

1. Open the migration template used for supplier migration.
2. Locate the field "External BP Number" for Business Partners configured with external numbering.
3. Populate this field with the appropriate external Business Partner numbers.
4. Validate if the Number Range is maintained correctly in the 2 SSCUI IDs.
   • Define Number Ranges (102296) -> In this activity, define number ranges for business partners. The defined number ranges are assigned to groupings in the Define Groupings and Assign Number Ranges activity. Number ranges for business partners are valid throughout a client. 
   • Define Groupings and Assign Number Ranges (102241) ->In this activity, define groupings for business partners.
     The following groupings are offered by SAP:
     0001
     0002 
5. Reupload the updated template into the "Migrate Your Data" application.
6. Simulate the migration process again.
