3644986 - Inbound delivery cannot be distributed to EWM with "VL601 - Delivery is not defined for goods issue"

Symptom

When distributing an inbound delivery to EWM, an error message occurs:

  • VL601 - Delivery is not defined for goods issue

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a PO in ME21N
  2. Create an inbound delivery with this PO
  3. The delivery cannot distribute to EWM and the field "Dec. Whse" in header level is A
  4. Distribute this inbound delivery to EWM with error message "VL601 - Delivery is not defined for goods issue"

Cause

In SAP standard behavior, EWM only processes items which are relevant for goods movement.

Check if the checkbox "No goods movement" is ticked under the Administration tab of the delivery item in VL33N. If this indicator is set, goods movement is not posted for this item - regardless of the movement type assigned to it.

Resolution

  1. Check the Confirmation Control under Confirmations Tab in relevant PO
  2. Navigate to SSCUI 101718 Set Up Confirmation Control
  3. Select the specific Confirmation Control and Click Confirmation sequence
  4. Set the GR Assignment for Inbound Delivery (Confirmation Category: LA)
  5. Create a new inbound delivery for this PO with this confirmation and this inbound delivery can distribute to EWM
