3645194 - Partner function address at sales document item level not inherited from header level in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

When changing a partner function's address at the sales document header level, the modified address does not get inherited to the item level.

"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental."

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

Using the sales order's partner function ship-to party as an example:

  1. Open the sales order.
  2. Go to the header level and click the "Partner" tab.
  3. Change the ship-to party address.
  4. Go to the item level and click the "Partner" tab.
  5. Observe that the ship-to party address at the item level is not inherited from the header level.

Resolution

The "Item Partners" checkbox for the ship-to party in the item's "Partner" tab has been checked, indicating that this item partner was manually modified. After this modification, any changes at the header level will no longer be inherited by the specified partner at the item level.
