Symptom
- The language filter functionality on the Knowledge Base page within SAP SuccessFactors Work Zone does not filter articles by the selected language.
- When selecting a language, all articles are displayed instead of filtering by the selected language.
- Changing the language display on the portal prompts the user to select the current language again, but the issue persists, displaying all articles.

Reproducing the Issue
- Navigate to the Knowledge Base page within SAP SuccessFactors Work Zone.
- Select a specific language using the language filter functionality.
- Observe that all articles are displayed, regardless of the selected language.
- Change the language display on the portal and select the current language again.
- Observe that the issue persists, displaying all articles instead of filtering by the selected language.
Cause
- The system does not automatically recognize the language a Knowledge Base article is written in. An explicit language assignment is required for the articles.
- When a Knowledge Base Article does not have a language explicitly assigned, the content is treated as generic and applicable to all languages, resulting in all articles being displayed regardless of the selected filter.
Resolution
Ensure that all Knowledge Base Articles have a specific language explicitly assigned.
To assign a language to a Knowledge Base Article follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Knowledge Base Article's configuration settings.
- Locate the language assignment field.
- Select the appropriate language for the article and save the changes.
- Verify that the language filter functionality now filters articles correctly based on the assigned language.
