Symptom
When importing data into the system via the Import Data Tool, including questions, instructor data, and other entities, some Japanese characters are automatically translated into Chinese.

Reproducing the Issue
- Navigate to Learning Administration > System Administration > System Management Tools > Import Data >
- Select import options >
- Choose the Excel file containing Japanese characters intended for import to the Japanese locale >
- Submit the job >
- Notice that some Japanese characters in the imported entity have been translated into Chinese.
Cause
The issue is not related to the SuccessFactors Learning product itself but is caused by the Excel sheet and/or browser being used, which lacks proper font support for the affected characters.
Resolution
Modify the browser's font settings to use the Arial Unicode MS font to ensure proper display of characters. Alternatively, you can use other fonts as long as they include Japanese characters.
