3646311 - Creation of follow up tasks for appointments with no write access

Symptom

You are able to create follow up tasks for the appointments for which you do not have write access

Environment

  • SAP Sales Cloud and SAP Service Cloud Version 2
 



Reproducing the Issue

  1. Logon as a user where the user has No write access for Appointments entity and unrestricted write access for Task entity.
  2. Go to Navigation Menu.
  3. Go to Activity Manager.
  4. Go to Appointments.
  5. Go to Follow-Up Entities section.
  6. Click +.
  7. Click Task.
  8. Enter all details and save.
  9. We observe that the Task is created and change is made to the appointment.

Cause

The unrestricted write access for the task entity allows users to create follow-up tasks, which inadvertently updates appointments, even when the user does not have write access to the appointment itself.

Resolution

This is the current expected system behaviour.
