3646556 - Failed to retrieve cluster name from the database. Access denied for user when configuring SSL with MySQL as CMS Database in BusinessObjects BI Platform

Symptom

  • Failed connection when configuring CMS (Central Management Server) database in SIA.
  • Error message: "Failed to retrieve cluster name from the database. Reason: SAP BusinessObjects BI platform CMS: Unable to connect to the CMS system database "databaseName:*****". Reason: Access denied for user 'user'@'IP' (using password: YES)" appears in CCM when MySQL Server is configured with SSL.
  • ODBC connection on the same machine works successfully with SSL, but fails with MySQL C API.
  • Connection works fine when SSL is disabled.
