3646623 - SAP Analytics Cloud(SAC) URL API Length Limitation Guidelines

• When using the SAP Analytics Cloud URL API with multiple filters or variable parameters, the URL can become excessively long. If the URL exceeds the supported limit, the story fails to load due to browser request header restrictions.

• SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

1. Create a story with charts/tables in SAC. 
2. Generate a URL containing multiple filter/variable parameters. 
3. Ensure the URL length exceeds 4 KB. 
4. Attempt to open the story. 
5. Observed Behavior: The story fails to load and returns the error:  “This page isn’t working. If the problem continues, contact the site owner. HTTP ERROR 400.” 

The redirect cookie cannot be set if the URL exceeds 4 KB, causing the browser to reject the request. 

Keep the URL length below 4 KB by optimizing filters and variables. Following this guideline prevents request header issues and ensures stories load correctly.
