3647043 - Font value blank when selecting a Text Object on a report in Crystal Reports

• No font name.
• Text Object does not have any font associated with it.
• When selecting a Text Object on a report in Crystal Reports, the font value is blank. Why?

• SAP Crystal Reports 2016
• SAP Crystal Reports 2020
• SAP Crystal Reports 2025

1. In Crystal Reports, open a report.
2. Select a Text Object.
3. Notice in the toolbar that the font is blank. 
      OR
   Right click on the Text Object, and select "Format Text...." In the Format Editor, under the tab "Font", the Font is blank
   There is no specific font associated with the Text Object.
   
   

• In order to display text in Crystal Reports, there will always have a font associated with the text, but when text in a Text Object is formatted using more than one Font, then when selecting the Text Object, it will show blank Font name.
  
  
• For example:  
  If we have in a Text Object the following text:  Demo Report
  And the word: Demo, is formatted with the font: Arial
  And the word: Report, is formatted with the font: Comic Sans MS
  Then when selecting the Text Object, it will show the Font as blank, since there is 2 different Fonts used to format the text in the Text Object.
  
  
  

• It is expected to not show Font name when the text is formatted using multiple fonts in the Text Object.
• To know the font used for each words in the Text Object, select the word in the Text Object, and it will show the Font used in the toolbar.
• To format the text using a different font, select, or highlight the text, then select the desired font.
