Symptom
- For a particular benefit, there is a cut-off date (Claim Ends) for example on December 10 every year;
- Employees hired after December 10 are not granted benefit for the current year;
- The unused benefits for these employees are not carried forward to the next year.
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
- SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
Reproducing the Issue
- Configure a benefit schedule with a Claim Ends date of December 10;
- Hire an employee with a start date of December 11;
- Verify the benefit for the employee in the system;
- Observe that the carry forward for the previous year are not reflected in the employee's profile.
Cause
The benefit schedule configuration has a Claim Ends date of December 10. Employees hired after this date are not granted benefit for the current year, and the unused credits are not carried forward to the next year.
Resolution
Update the Claim Ends date in the benefit schedule to December 31. This adjustment ensures that employees hired after December 10, are granted benefit for the current year, which can then be carried forward to the next year.
